Synopsis and Treatment

Synopsis

Jasmine and I aim to create a doctor who music video, aimed for young adults to adults. Our content will include Garlecks and Cyber Clays for the bad monsters and two extra good monsters at the end. We are including monster in our video because looking at a doctor who episode, all of them, at least include one monster. The length of our production will be, maximum, of three minutes long. The genre that will be used is sci-fi as doctor who itself is a sci-fi programme.

We are including Tom Hazzle from the second year in Media to play the role of the doctor and myself and Jasmine are going to play the two nice aliens at the end of the video. Jasmine and I are also taking the role as director, producer and camera operator.

In our video our storyline is the doctor comes to earth starts to get chased by bad aliens then they get blown up then he goes to the bus station to talk to other aliens. Our target audience for the music video is anyone who likes Doctor Who really so it could range from children to adults.

Treatment

For the music video that Jasmine and I are going to make, will have, continued editing, to represent the action that we wish to convey in our video, with mostly clean edit shot in between shots. Most of the frames are going to range from MCU – ECU of the action. We are going to have balanced shots where we have the camera moving and when the camera stays still, we also are going to experiment with camera angles, where some of the shots we are going to have are going to have a high camera angle and some with a low camera angle.

We have four locations that we are going to film in. These locations are key as they will provide the middleground and the background for the shots. The prop we will use will not look like props, as they are being used for some of the action, but we are using play-dough for the cyber clays, a sonic screwdriver for the opening shot and garlic for the garlieks. We only have two costumes used in our music video and that is the doctor’s costume and the alien costumes which will give the feel of doctor who to the music video.

The only sound we are using for our video is going to the “Alien Nights” our song that we made, and we might add one sound effect to the video which is the explosion. Our target audience would be doctor who fans but it would be more aimed at young adults and adults as the music video is in the style of the old doctor who when it was first brought out, with a modern twist on it.

The lighting that we are going to include in our production will be a hard light casting a clear shadow. With most of the shots not lasting long, this will give it an action feel for the audience watching it. We will be using a Deep focus and play around with the lighting so that the main characters on the production are highlighted.
